Insulator of the Month - "The BLIZ"
Reprinted from "Crown Jewels of the Wire", March 2003, inside front cover

The winter of 2003 has been just nasty in parts of the country, but not for collector Ray Heim. Ray obtained this "blizzard in an insulator" from a bottle collector who acquired it in the purchase of a small bottle collection in Northern Illinois. It's an 1871 & 1893 dated CD 134 Hemingray with the 040 embossing style. Ray notes, "It's a great addition to my collection, and so far one of a kind." Noting that a bottle collector recently dug the "Bliz", Ray concludes, "It shows there is still good glass to be found."
